Sign Language Linguistics and the Application of Information Technology to Sign Languages

A meeting organized by
The Università degli Studi di Milano-Bicocca (QUA_SI) and the Università degli Studi di Milano (Dept. of Philosophy) are pleased to announce that they will host a conference on Sign language linguistics and the application of information technology to sign languages. The conference will take place in Milan from June 22nd to June 24th 2005.

The first part of the conference will be devoted to contributions to the study of sign languages based on formal frameworks (or relevant to such frameworks). The second part will be devoted to contributions illustrating current research on applications of information technology to sign languages.

  • Markus Steinbach (University of Mainz)
  • Ulrike Zeshan (Max Planck Institute, Nijmegen)

The conference will be concluded by a plenary talk by

  • Harlan Lane (North Eastern University, Boston).
